![]() As both a Christian and a practising scientist the relationship between these areas is of particular interest to me. It is my firm belief that these areas (indeed all areas) of my life have a unity and cannot be compartmentalised if I am to be true to who I am. I cannot work on scientific matters during the day at the exclusion of my faith, and then go to church on Sunday leaving my scientific background at the door. My faith must affect the way I work, and science must inform my beliefs. This means that I should try and apply Christian principles to scientific ethics (including whether to work in certain research areas), and that my Christian faith should not contradict my scientific understanding. On these pages I have included a few short discussions on some parts of this field. These are largely an attempt to put some of my rambling thoughts in order. At present, these are: The Relationship Between Science and the Christian Faith. Some thoughts of a practising scientist and Christian. Creation and Evolution. A summary of my views. Creation by Process. An exploration of the parallels between creation and the formation of the nation of Israel. An Evaluation of Design Theory. The Second Law of Thermodynamics. Why it doesn't contradict Christian faith. I've also included details of several books and other resources that I've found helpful in my thinking about this subject. |
